Project Overview

Moving away from fragile off-the-shelf smart locks, we designed a custom hardware-to-software architecture optimized for enterprise environments, boutique hotels, and automated residential facilities. The Challenge
Developing a digital system connected to physical security infrastructure presents critical challenges, leaving absolutely zero margin for error:

Our Solution
1. Custom IoT Architecture & Hardware Integration
Instead of relying on restrictive third-party APIs, Saikō built a dedicated IoT middleware layer. We integrated secure microcontrollers and network relays directly into the physical electronic strikes of the doors. Communication is handled via lightweight, high-speed protocols (MQTT / WebSockets) ensuring that data packets travel from the smartphone to the lock cylinder in milliseconds.

Leveraging the lightweight capabilities of UIkit, we built a minimalist, mobile-first control dashboard. Users don’t need to navigate complex menus—a single, highly responsive button handles the operation, accompanied by clear visual states (Locked / Unlocking / Success).

For building managers and administrators, we developed an intuitive dashboard that ranks among our most secure custom web applications and platforms, providing:
- Instant Access Revocation: Grant or terminate digital keys instantly (ideal for short-term rentals like Airbnb or corporate shift workers).
- Real-Time Audit Logs: A clean, searchable ledger recording every single entry event.
- System Diagnostics: Live health monitoring of the physical lock’s network connectivity and power status.
