The struggle of daily inventory management

Running a physical store alongside an online shop requires precise coordination. One of our clients operated a WordPress and WooCommerce store featuring hundreds of micro-products. They also managed a bustling physical retail location.

Their daily routine involved processing massive supplier invoices filled with dozens of different product codes. The custom Symfony bridge

The initial request was simple enough. They wanted a fast way to check prices in the warehouse. We developed an intermediary software bridge based on the Symfony framework, which connected directly to a wireless barcode scanner.

This system now serves as the central brain of the operation. The Symfony application maintains independent data fields for each product code. This architecture allows the client to set one price for walk-in customers and a completely different price for online shoppers.

Real-time bidirectional stock synchronization

The true power of this application is evident in daily operations.

When a customer makes a purchase in the physical store, the employee scans the item with the barcode scanner. The Symfony system instantly retrieves the correct retail price and deducts the quantity from the local warehouse. In the background, the system immediately sends a signal to WooCommerce to update the available stock online.

The exact same logic applies in reverse. When a new order is placed on the e-shop, the corresponding quantity is automatically reserved in the central Symfony system. This bidirectional communication completely prevents overselling.

Handling incoming shipments became equally effortless. When a new supplier invoice arrives, the user simply scans the products, inputs the received quantities into the central system, and all stock data is automatically transferred to the e-shop.

AI-powered product enrichment

Creating a brand new product is usually the most time-consuming task for any e-commerce manager. You have to write engaging titles, craft SEO descriptions, find proper images, and fill out technical attributes.

To solve this bottleneck, we integrated AI & Machine Learning technologies into the workflow. When the store owner scans a new barcode that does not exist in the database, the system allows them to create it on the spot.

The artificial intelligence takes over immediately. It automatically searches the internet for product details using supplier data or other online sources. It then generates optimized SEO texts, retrieves appropriate product images, and populates the technical attributes. All this rich data is pushed directly to WooCommerce without manual typing.
